Breast cancer
Avoid eating ice cream, or any dairy products for that matter, if you are currently fighting breast cancer as it could actually hinder your chances of survival.
Around one in eight women will develop breast cancer at some point in their lives, averaging 50,000 new cases a year. Although survival chances are far better than other forms of the illness, it still leads to 11,800 deaths annually.
And apparently those with the disease who consume dairy products daily are 50 per cent more likely to die. This is because the milk contains the hormone oestrogen, which encourages the growth of tumours. This is especially true if the milk came from pregnant cows, which is rich in the hormones.
Opt for a dairy-free ice cream instead. But fear not ice cream fanatics, if you are concerned about this fact and still want to consume ice cream, there are still the dairy-free ice creams like sherbet and frozen soy yoghurt to help your cravings, though they definitely don't taste the same.
Most importantly, remember that any women or man who have had breast cancer and are concerned about their diet should discuss this with their doctors.
